was born in Rockwood, Tennessee
on July 16, 1958. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of
Business in 1980, cum laude, and the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1983, cum laude. While an undergraduate, he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, Student Affairs Council, Student Tribunal, Judicial Board and the Business Student's Advisory Council to the Dean. In law school, Mr. Ivens was a member of the Tennessee Law Review and was Chief Justice of the Student Tribunal. Mr. Ivens is a former Chairman of the Real Estate Section of the Tennessee Bar Association. He practiced with the Fennemore Craig law firm in Phoenix, Arizona from 1983 to 1988 before joining the firm in May of 1988.
