was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on March 10, 1959. Mr. Schmid graduated from the Webb School of Knoxville in 1977. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree with Distinction in 1981. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee and was admitted to the Bar in 1984. He has served the community on the Board of Directors of the United Way, as president of the Board of Directors of Child & Family Services of Knox County, Inc., as a trustee of The Webb School of Knoxville and as a commissioner of Knoxville's Community Development Corporation. He and his family are parishioners at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension.
