Mycol Scott is one of the firm’s “homegrown” transactional attorneys and has been with the firm since passing the Tennessee Bar Exam in 2019. Since then, he has focused on developing his law practice in the areas listed above.
Mycol is an alumnus of the University of Tennessee (’16, G’19) and a native of the Bearden area, where he continues to reside with his wife Hannah, a kindergarten teacher, and their two dogs. When he is not in the office, Mycol is likely spending time with family, making music, having a game night, or training in mixed martial arts (having previously had the opportunity to train with multiple UFC fighters).
Mycol strives to obtain a holistic understanding of every client and their situation in order to better accommodate and their goals, while also protecting their best interests along the way. He particularly enjoys assisting non-profits with their legal needs and providing companies with general legal assistance, in a somewhat of an “outsourced in-house counsel” capacity.
In addition, Mycol assists clients with a wide variety of matters interrelated with his practice areas, such as the following non-exhaustive of services that he has performed in the past:
- Forming 501(c)(3) eligible non-profit corporations and assisting with the procurement of a 501(c)(3) tax exemption;
- Advising, assisting, and organizing, churches & church cemeteries;
- Assisting in the acquisition of a large tourist attraction/ amusement park;
- Generally drafting, reviewing, and/or negotiating various types of legal documents and/or providing general advice in connection with the same;
- Representing and advising small business owners and mid-size companies in connection with a wide range of matters in a capacity which is essentially “outsourced in-house counsel”;
- Assisting with due diligence and closing requirements in connection with acquisitions;
- Forming, converting, dissolving, advising and assisting entities, and

Advising and/or conducting preliminary legal research & due diligence in connection with a potential legal matter or business decision.
